Church apology During that time, renovation work was carried out and the building has also been redecorated. Nugent later received 100 hours' community service after being found guilty of contempt of court and was placed on probation for a year. The 63-year-old was repeatedly warned about "prevaricating" when being questioned during the high court trial of Tobin, who was ordered to serve at least 21 years behind bars. The parish priest, who revealed he was an alcoholic, said he had a sexual relationship with Ms Kluk, who had been working as a cleaner at the church and saving up money for her studies. The Archdiocese of Glasgow issued an apology for his actions. |
