City gets foreign cash ATM

 
The 24-hour hole-in-the-wall is to be situated at the old Clydesdale Bank building in the city centre.

Holidaymakers will be able to use their standard bank and credit cards to withdraw euros and US dollars for trips to Europe and the United States.

Barrhead Travel, new occupants of the High Street building, is behind the plan.

The travel agency plans to unveil the machine next month after a series of hiccups over planning consent.

Although it will initially dispense euros and US dollars, branch manager Jason Patterson said the popularity of Dubai may see UAE currency, the Dirham, added to the set.
