The University of Dundee, which has more than doubled in size since 1994, has powered its way to a position as one of the UK's leading universities and today has more than 18,000 students and over 3,000 staff. It is internationally recognised for its expertise in a wide range of disciplines, is currently investing over £200 million in a capital redevelopment programme and is acknowledged as a leader in the advancement of enterprise. Reporting to the Principal and Vice-Chancellor, Sir Alan Langlands, responsibility is to provide clear and proactive financial leadership, contributing to the strategic development and sustainability of the University. You will ensure the strategies, skills, systems and controls are in place in support of the University's commitment to learning and teaching, research and knowledge transfer whilst complying with the requirements of The Scottish Funding Council and other bodies. Candidates who must be qualified accountants, may come from a variety of backgrounds, but must demonstrate extensive and successful senior financial management experience role within a large and complex organisation in either the public or private sector and been influential in the implementation of major change management projects. You will have an open and forthright management style and an affinity with the higher education sector, as well as excellent communication skills, high ethical and professional standards and the ability to engage effectively with all departments of the University.
